Casting Salad in Resin / Making a Salad Bowl

I wanted to try some Resin Casting with Polyester resin because i like the clear look of it and its also pretty cheap. I never seen some Vegetables casting in Poly, i think maybe because of the moisture don’t let the resin cure. So lets give it a try!
I wanted to make this bowl without using a lathe by just making it with some Plastic and Stainless steel bowls as mold. although this wasn’t working out because there was just too many imperfections and some exposed salad leaves . so i filled it completely with resin ( 2kg in total) nd turned it round on the lathe. somehow the salad lost his green color. It’s not the prettiest but i’m done with it. oh yeah and i had a few big catches on the lathe which broke my tool rest when i was hollowing out the inside. i temporary fixed it with a block of wood and a clamp. i sanded the bowl from 80grit up to 2000 grit. and polished it with some automotive pain polish.
