Carving a Wooden Cup

This time I try Carving a wooden cup from dry Spalted Beech! It is a cut off from a slab that i had laying around. Although the wood is quite hard to carve i had so much fun doing it. I soaked the finished cup for a couple of hours in RAW Linseed oil and wiped it off afterward, I let it dry for 3 days. Pure linseed oil is a food-safe finish and it works perfectly to seal up the end grain and prevent the cup from leaking. You can find all the carving tools I used in this video down below!

Wall Cabinet with Circuit Board Door and LED lights

I use a Computer PCB and some 12mm plywood to make a small wall cabinet to hold my camera gear. The circuit board is backlit with an LED strip which makes for a great looking ambient light.

Folding Plasma Table for my Welding Cart

Since I Acquired a plasma cutter recently it would be time to make a plasma cutting table for my multifunctional welding cart wich has already a folding welding table attached to it. But you can just weld on two more legs and use it as a separate table.

I took the same design and welded in some 30x3mm flat bars that are curved( the curves support the workpiece when you cut straight lines) And made a hinged pan for catching the sparks and the small offcuts. The legs are height adjustable to accommodate for uneven floors.

Making a Floor standing LED Lamp from Scrap Steel

I made this floor standing lamp from a steel scrap that I had laying around my shop, this was also the perfect opportunity to try out my new Plasma Cutter which I bought just recently (I put a link to it down below)

I f you would like to make this lamp yourself i’m pretty certain you could do all the cutting with a Jigsaw(with a metal cutting blade) or an angle grinder( just make straight cuts in the square tube instead of the curvy lines.

I’m Sorry! I messed up a Diresta Ice Pick… DirestaOfUs #10

There are so many uses for an Ice pick other than picking some Ice! In this video, I’ll try to expand on the usability by adding a permanent marker and some simple measuring marks to it.

This video is a part of the #DIRESTAOFUS video collaboration Started By Brian Lane at Wooden Creationz.

NO ICE PICKS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO!

Forging Basic Blacksmiths Tongs | Beginner Blacksmithing Project

This is my First blacksmithing project so if I can do it you can make them too! In total, I used about 300mm of 25mm x 6 mm mild steel flat bar for the forged tongs and about 800mm of the same material for the “stupid” simple ones. Which can be reused for forging new tongs.

For a step by step tutorial please check out John’s video: https://youtu.be/dHrgefJ7NvI

Wastebasket from Plywood with woven pattern / Or is it a Lampshade?

Making a trash can from plywood. Or is it a lampshade? Back in 2016, I made a Twisted plywood lamp from cut up strips of 18mm plywood, at that time I experimented with weaving these thin plywood strips together without any luck. So this time i Make a rubbish bin with the same materials but instead of weaving the strips together I’ll just glue them together in a woven pattern. The glue I’m using is just regular Cyanoacrylate (super glue) glue with an activator which helps the glue to dry quicker.
For finishing, I just use a satin clear spray lacquer. This wastebasket is meant to be used in my office for paper waste. Or should I use it as a lampshade instead?

Simple Box Joint Jig for the Router Table

This is a simple way to build a jig that makes it possible to cut box joints also known as finger joints on your router table ( Build video for mine: https://youtu.be/-xHVPCrR7OU ) I used some leftover MDF but you can also use Plywood for this. I recommend that you use an up cut spiral bit like this one: https://amzn.to/2TuKC38 to in your preferred size to prevent tear out. I use a sacrificial piece to prevent tear out on my workpiece.

Making a Simple Desk with Hidden Drawer

I use some wooden table legs and a piece of the leftover countertop that I found a while ago in a dumpster. With the use of some pine and plywood leftovers. The only things I had to buy are the drawer slides ($7) for the secret drawer and the edge banding ($0.50) that goes on the countertop. I applied 5 coats of Hazelnut stain and 2 coats of satin lacquer. I hope you like this simple but modern looking table with the secret drawer.
