An Interesting way to Build a Steel Folding Door

This week I’m building a Folding Door for my new Shop from 5mm thick steel angle iron and wood. This bi-fold design with the offset hinges allows me to fold out the doors to a full 180degree.

Big thanks to Scheppach for sponsoring this week’s video! Visit their site for more information on the tools I used at https://www.scheppach.com/

Turning a Simple Carvers Mallet from Spalted Beech

This time I’m making a carvers mallet from spalted beech wood on the lathe. The simple shape is ideal when working with different carving chisels while it is also a great exercise in woodturning. The total length is about 10″ (250mm) and the head is 3″ (75mm) wide on the largest part. I used Boiled linseed oil for a finish as i do on all my wooden tools.

Making a Wooden Block Plane from Firewood

A while ago I bought this plane blade on a Fleamarket. Now I took some time to make a Block plane body to use it. I used a piece of Beech firewood which has dried for more than 2 years. The blade sits bevel up in the body on a 20-degree slope. For a finish, I applied some home made Linseed oil-Beeswax mixture.

Art piece from Scrap wood | Plywood Bowl Experiment

I have a bunch of scrap plywood pieces laying around in my shop. As you may know, I like to use plywood to make unusual items from it. This time I try to make a bowl entirely from plywood. After I cut all the pieces and glued them together I’ve turned it on the wood lathe, sanded it to 600 grit and applied several coats of Aussie Oil Friction polish.

Steel and Plywood Table ( Live Edge Plywood Resin Table )

This table started as a Resin inlay table made from 18mm, 12mm plywood and 60mm steel square tubing for the legs.
After some issues with the resin, i decided to go a different route… If you are interested in the pyrography tool we used: https://ban.ggood.vip/bgo
