How to Make a Beautiful Bowl from Worthless Log

In this video, I’ll show you how to turn a piece of firewood into a beautiful pierced Bowl. I rough turned the Poplar log in 2016 to a wall thickness of 25mm and coated it with wood glue ( easier to get than Anchor seal where I live). When the moisture content of the bowl didn’t changed anymore i turned to its final thickness. I had a catch while doing so. but i managed to glue it back together. After the final thickness was achieved i sanded it up to p400 grit. and applied a coat of Danish oil. With a Rotary tool, i carved (pierced) the bowl with random shapes. Sadly i forgot to measure the thickness of the bottom so I couldn’t finish turning the foot. I coated the Bowl with 2 coats of Danish oil afterward.
Thank you very much for watching!
