Padalar Bowl / Segmented Wood turning

Padalar = Padauk + Poplar .I wanted to try my luck on segmented turning a while ago, now gave it a try using a reasonably dry rough turned Poplar bowl blank which had a deep crack in the middle. First i turned it round afterwards i removed a small bowl from the middle and kept the top and bottom half. For the segmented rings i choose Padauk, after gluing the ring i cut it in two on the table saw to save some time. I decided to put a 1/2″ plywood in the middle to give it some contrast (i haven’t got any veneer) Afterwards i turned it and gave it a 1000grit sanding, And applyed some mineral oil- beeswax finish. Sadly the Padauk colored the plywood and the poplar even though i vacuumed the bowl and removed all the dust. Thanks for watching!
